working for my school’s ministry team this year has brought about so many joys, but nothing can top the moment I was able to take this first photo 🥹

when I studied abroad in Rome the priest in the first photo was one of my chaplains. we were able to grow in friendship and when he was ordained a priest I attended his ordination with tears in my eyes and joy in my heart. he has always been incredibly thoughtful and supportive of my own discernment along with constantly hyping up the photos i share with him lol

it has been incredible watching him grow from seminary into his priestly roles and I’m always so grateful when I randomly run into him at events such as vocation jamboree on my own college campus

Jesus, thank you for the gift of vocations and for Your servant, Father Josh

when I asked erandi + cole what they were most excited for on their wedding day cole said, “looking forward to seeing her walk down the isle the most” and erandi said, the first kiss as a married couple. I love how both of these moments were within the church, perfectly replicating the Father’s joy as they entered into their new vocations

the couple started off the day at their separate airbnbs in sayulita, mexico getting ready with their loved ones. I stopped by the bride’s house first to get some details and the last bits of her getting ready before some heartfelt first looks and bridals at the gorgeous @casakukana. then I hopped over to the grooms airbnb with the boutonnières for some fast getting ready moments and portraits.

here are some images I took of my cute grandparents when I went to bake cookies with them. I love being invited into couples love stories and lives, and it was even sweeter to make some time to do the same for people so near and dear to my heart.

I also took a lil break from socials for the Advent season to prepare my heart for Jesus birth (even tho there is no way you can ever fully do that ;)) and it was so good to recognize what an impulse it is to tap into Instagram without even thinking about it. I put some much pressure on being present here that it definitely detracts from other parts of my business, and it was great to be able to fully pour into those places. I hope this tone brings about a better balance with that because I love interacting with you all on here and sharing my art 🫶🏼

but in reality, definitely fly me (or whoever you trust with your wedding photography) out a day or two before the wedding. you never know if flights will get cancelled, they’ll be rental car issues, sickness from a new environment, or so many other factors. I love being able to show up a couple days before because I feel more comfortable with my environment and don’t have to use google maps much on the day of your wedding. PLUS it never hurts to give your photographer time to scope out your venues and attend your rehearsal/welcome party ;)

it’s that time of year!!!!

I seriously LOVE in-home sessions because they show SO much more of your life.

I’ve have multiple people tell me they don’t love the way their apt/home looks so they’d rather just wait til next summer, totally valid! but I stand by the idea that you will want your home documented no matter what stage it is in. a recent shoot I did the mom wanted to bake w her fam, but was nervous to do it at her house cuz she didn’t love the color of her kitchen cupboards. I encouraged her that she wouldn’t be focusing on something that minuscule when she looked back at her photos, but the joy her family had in her little kitchen. long story short, she was very happy with the photos when she got them back, and thanked me for reminding her, her home is beautiful because of the people inside of it 🫶🏼

I seriously LOVE in-home sessions because they show SO much more of your life.

wow, the you is crazy to look back at. I first picked up a professional camera at my work study job freshman year where I specialized in video and graphic design 🤯 ik a lil different from what I do now.

I went into that job basically clueless on everything I was doing, but excited to learn it all. in the first photo of me back then, my friend was literally walking me around campus showing me what shutter speed, aperture, iso, and everything else did in different situations. I was overwhelmed to say the least, but she was incredibly patient.

slowly I shifted from video and campus life to couples to families to weddings to everything in between. and now I get to walk with you through life’s most precious moments that you never want to forget. I’m so grateful for how the Lord has shifted my passions and guided me thro these seasons

I truly can’t wait to see where God continues to direct this lil business of mine and thank you for being here to follow along 🫶🏼✨
